New work for glass organist Rogier Kappers and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra

Night Passage, for glass organ and string orchestra, to be premiered at Taqa Theater De Vest in Alkmaar on November 22, 2024, followed by two performances on November 23 and 24 in Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. This meditative and lyrical work, commissioned by the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra for an otherwise all-Mozart programme, features the rarely-heard instrument known as the glass organ, which produces a sound described alternatively as “bewitching,” “magical” and “unearthly.” The concert will be performed in an immersive orchestral set-up, with light design by Desiree van Gelderen.
